Made by the Garbuja sisters, Sradha and Arina, in their London home, each piece of handcrafted art is utterly beautiful. We caught up with both sisters to find out more about the Arkō studio, its charitable ethos and their relationship with their art…
Our style hugely influences each piece we create. Our recent shoots have tried to showcase how we would style each piece from our individual perspectives. We model each piece ourselves in our photoshoots with the aim to highlight our style and personality and would definitely wear each one as it has pieces of personality incorporated within them…
What exactly is your creation process like?
‘We try not to be rigid with the process; we are both very visual people. Sometimes we make a quick sketch of a design and show the other person, however most of our creations are made on the spot without any initial ideas.
Often we sit at the desk with the beads out in front of us and play around with shapes, colours and different combinations. We trust each other a lot and always help one another with ideas. As sisters, we know each other exceptionally well and always make sure to consult one another..…’
