An illustration and statement by Yayoi Yamabato for segments of artistry

The background grid pattern represents the road because it is a grid, meaning people can go everywhere (journey of age) and we can go anywhere using our own initiative. We can have various experiences there.

The red yarn symbolises the connection each person has with the next. It represents the fact that we live by helping each other. We humans can never live alone. And the plants that grow on the road represent the logic that whatever happens along the way (happy, sad or painful), it will be a good experience.

The drawing is a mix of all three things, where everyone grows their own beautiful tree…
